The Mother Road Market is seeking to add new members to our team! We are a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization, founded by the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation, striving to build a vibrant space for Tulsa’s food community. The Mother Road Market is Tulsa’s first food hall featuring a curated collective of over 20 small shops, a bar, demonstration kitchen, and outdoor patio space. Within the Market, Kitchen 66, Tulsa’s kickstart kitchen program, supports new Tulsa food businesses by providing shared commercial kitchen space, business training programs, and retail and restaurant space for entrepreneurs to test new ideas.

CURRENT AVAILABLE POSITIONS:

MOTHER ROAD MARKET SALES ASSOCIATE

POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Sales Associate to support Mother Road Market and Kitchen 66’s General Store and Takeover Cafe. In this position, you will perform efficient cash handling, provide quality customer service, and work to create an environment of hospitality that celebrates and embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of Mother Road Market. The position is regular / part-time. Starting compensation is $10 per hour. This position reports to the Mother Road Market General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and make all guests feel welcome

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained shop environment

  • Complete opening/ closing procedures and tasks as directed by Leadership Team with a client focus (e.g. replenishing merchandise; cleaning, removing trash, marketing updates, price changes, balancing register cash receipts).

  • Performs register transactions quickly and efficiently

  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely fashion

  • Participate and assist in the preparation for the shop’s inventory

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the Mother Road Market, Kitchen 66, and the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation (LTFF)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Previous experience in customer service, food service, or other related fields

  • Ability to build rapport with guests and provide a positive attitude towards customers

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively to guests and leadership

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds

  • Must be able to comfortably stand for up to 6 hours at a time

BARTENDER, WEL BAR

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests. Each bartender’s primary objective is to show our guests such an enjoyable experience, they will want to return.  Starting compensation is $4/hour (plus tips) for evening shifts and $9/hour (plus tips) for daytime shifts. This position reports to the Mother Road Market Bar Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the Mother Road Market, Kitchen 66, and the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation (LTFF)

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant’s standard drink recipes.

  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol and and adhere to responsible alcohol service

  • Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws

  • Clean bars, work areas, and tables

  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.

  • Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Prior bartending experience and strong working knowledge of beer, wine and cocktails highly preferred

  • For daytime shifts, prior barista experience is highly preferred

  • Good customer-service skills to ensure repeat business

  • Bartenders must have current alcohol and food certification that meets state requirements.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively to guests and leadership

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Must be able to comfortably stand for up to 6 hours at a time

FLOOR STAFF “ROADIES”

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Ensure that the guest experience at Mother Road Market is always pleasant and welcoming, and that the facility is always sparkling clean and organized.  Starting compensation is $9 per hour. This position reports to the Mother Road Market General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the Mother Road Market (MRM) and Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation (LTFF).

  • Be the warm and welcoming face that customers seek out for answers and assistance with their needs.

  • Coordinate with, assist and (when needed) fill-in for fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the facility.

  • Monitor and observe guests experience to ensure guests are satisfied and respond promptly and courteously to correct any problems.

  • Communicate with rest of staff to optimize customer service.

  • Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors,, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom.

  • Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate guest requests to management as needed.

  • Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas or other areas of the restaurant, and mop or vacuum floors.

  • Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by manager on duty.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Must be able to comfortably stand for up to 6 hours at a time

  • Ability to think quickly and solve problems, even in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to maintain composure and calm demeanor in fast-paced, busy workplace.

DISHWASHER

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Dishwasher is responsible for washing and stocking wares to proper standards throughout the shift. The MRM Dishwasher is also a steward of the physical space of the dish-pit, who maintains operational order throughout the shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the Mother Road Market (MRM) and Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation (LTFF).

  • Lifts racks of glassware, cutlery, serving trays, pots and pans from a holding area to the dish machine or three-compartment sink.

  • Scrape dishes into the disposal area and cycles the dirty dishes through the dish machine.

  • Places clean glassware from the dish machine onto dollies as well as stocking clean dishware in the appropriate areas.

  • Fills & changes chemicals & soap used in the dish machine a minimum of every 2 hours

  • Sorts flatware into bins for proper cleaning and sanitizing.

  • Empties dish-pit trash into the dumpster

  • Observes the basic rules of kitchen safety, sanitation and building security and safety.

  • Utilizes various cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

  • Completes all running, opening and closing side work. Get checked out by management
    before leaving the building

  • Remembers that all co-workers and merchants are also customers, and provides friendly and competent customer service

  • Reports for work in a timely manner when scheduled.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by manager on duty.

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Able to work under stress.

  • Able to work accurately and rapidly.

  • Must be flexible with the ability to adapt to change when required

  • Ability to work with different pieces of kitchen equipment.

  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and any shift needed.

  • Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
