In the Vault: The Nap Nook

to Mar 24

In the Vault: The Nap Nook

The Nap Nook Gift Nappers are practical, personal, all age Gift pillows.

Nappers are a result of a therapeutic sewing journey Brooke went on while dealing with the emotional impact of facing life with a chronic invisible illness (Narcolepsy).

Once Brooke “mastered” the perfect napping pillow (Napper), she  gifted in abundance.  Gifting them brought joy and purpose back into her life; simply because people loved them.

The response from these gifts were overwhelming.  Requests for additional gift Nappers were pouring in.  This is how The Nap Nook came to exist as it is today.  “Selling to fund a gifting habit”, is a joke Brooke often makes about herself.

“The Nap Nook” is named after a real place.   Brooke’s Nap Nook is where she takes her two required daily naps.

In the Vault: Piece Process Art

I create wooden mosaics and jewelry using laser cutters at Tulsa's own FabLab. Each piece is designed on a computer, cut, painted, and put back together like a puzzle.  I love puzzles and the sense of satisfaction you get after putting in the last piece - I feel the same way when I cross items off to-do lists.  I think I have some sort of compulsion to fit things together or have them fit together perfectly, maybe because life never works like that.

I have always enjoyed both wearing and making jewelry. My jewelry is for the woman who loves jewelry and wears some kind of jewelry every day. Many of my customers are like me—we pick our jewelry for the day, then figure out what we are going to wear!

I love unique beads and techniques. My line includes semi- precious stones, interesting glass beads, and leather. I incorporate a lot of copper as I love the feel of the material. All my designs offer something different than what you will see at the mall and most are one of a kind. I craft everything myself, with quality in mind regardless of the price point. My designs are usually simple, letting the materials speak for themselves. Some statement pieces find their way in as well, when making a statement is what you want to do. From blue jean casual to work attire, there are affordable pieces for all of your adventures!

POSTPONED: No Parking Studio Art Reveal

This event is in the process of being rescheduled - please check back soon!

No Parking Studios was started by Antonio Andrews in the fall of 2017 after a life changing trip to Cancun. “After having a not so pleasant view of where Tulsa and myself was headed creatively, I decided to do something about it.”

With this new found perspective Antonio turned a vision into a reality with the creation of multiple outlets which includes his No Parking Studios Podcast, a clothing line, and a street art collective. Equipped with these new outlets Antonio looks to create his own lanes with his vision that is No Parking Studios.

Phase 2 is the revealing of a new piece from No Parking Studios. All proceeds will fund our trip to Tokyo this fall.

The event is from 6:00-9:00 p.m. with the reveal at 7:00 p.m. in the Mother Road Market Demonstration Kitchen.
