In the Vault: Baby D's Bee Sting

Baby D's Bee Sting is popping up in The Vault in celebration of Kitchen 66 Impact Day and selling their hot sauce. Baby D's Bee Sting is a Kitchen 66 Launch Program graduate.

More about Baby D's Bee Sting: Every batch of Baby Ds Bee Sting™ is unique! Why? Because all of the ingredients used are 100% natural. The stinging heat and powerful flavor are always present but in different amounts. This difference comes from the types of chili peppers used in each batch. Each strain of chili has a distinct flavor profile. By combining them we create a symphony of flavor.

Besides the peppers, there are only five other ingredients: apple cider vinegar, onions, garlic, salt, and Love! Why these four? We want you to be able to really taste the natural flavors of the peppers. We love our ingredients through every step of the process. Can you tell? The apple cider vinegar, onion, and garlic help bring a sweetness and balanced flavor to the sauces.

OSU Cowboy Chef's Table: Tacos with Chef Lorenz Quiambao & Chef Kirk Swaby

Join us in the Demonstration Kitchen for OSU Cowboy Chef's Table Lunch and Learn with Chef Quiambao and Chef Swaby. Chef Lorenz Quiambao is the executive chef of the Guckenheimer at Google in Pryor, Oklahoma, where he’s involved with a constantly evolving food philosophy built around sustainability. He says, “It's rad to know that we're shaping the future of food preparation and consumption.”

Purchase tickets: https://admissions.osuit.edu/register/?id=f72f0029-ff87-4eeb-9d49-c0515ec0436c

Chef Quiambao initially attempted culinary school right out of high school, but struggled to afford tuition. He quit school and worked a variety of jobs until, after bringing something to a work potluck lunch, his supervisor recognized he had a different calling and gave him an ultimatum to find a culinary school, along with a signed recommendation letter. He attended the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont. Chef Quiambao and his wife, Lynn, have twin daughters.

Chef Kirk Swaby is the newly appointed executive chef of Gathering Place, Tulsa's Riverfront Park. Before moving to Tulsa, he was the Executive Chef and Owner of Mange La Vie, a boutique catering & private chef company located in Chicago.

Chef Swaby started his culinary education in Toronto, Canada, at George Brown Culinary School, but then pursued a degree in culinary arts from prestigious Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Chicago. He has since worked his way from humble dishwasher to preparing food for some of the hippest restaurants.

While in Chicago, Chef Swaby worked alongside a non-profit subsidiary of Meals on Wheels to aid in providing meals for senior citizens and disadvantaged persons. In his spare time, he would also go and provide healthy meals for the homeless within the Chicago area. With soup kitchens only open certain times of the day, he hopes to continue partnerships with local grocery stores and bakeries within Tulsa.

Vision boards are the visual representation of your goals, dreams and desires. What do you want to do? Who do you want to become? What do you want to have?

Through vision boards you can create the life you desire – and get greater clarity on what that is! Having clarity about your dreams is the single most important step to achieving them!

Together we will walk through this journey of creating a vision board and getting the clarity and vision for what it is you truly desire for your life.

Open your imagination and embrace childlike faith that anything is possible and turn your dreams into reality!

Everything you need to create your vision board will be supplied. Snacks, water and soft drinks provided. There will be a break for lunch for you to try one of the great local restaurants located within the market.

Located in the Mother Road Market Demonstration Kitchen.

Tickets: $55

Lost Restaurants of Tulsa Book Signing with Author, Rhys Martin

Join Tulsa author Rhys Martin in our Demonstration Kitchen as he signs and discusses his new book, "Lost Restaurants of Tulsa". This new book covers the history of about 50 restaurants from the city's history as the "Oil Capital of the World." The rush of roughnecks and oil barons built a culinary foundation that not only provided traditional food and diner fare but also inspired upper-class experiences and international cuisine. Tulsans could reserve a candlelit dinner at the Louisiane or cruise along the Restless Ribbon with a pit stop at Pennington’s. Generations of regulars depended on family-owned establishments such as Villa Venice, The Golden Drumstick and St. Michael’s Alley.

Come to Mother Road Market to learn more about Rhys' research and get a copy of the book for your very own. As a special treat, a limited quantity of My Pi Pizza will be available! Get here early to make sure you get a little taste of this part of Tulsa history.
