Join Cat Cox from Living Kitchen Farm & Dairy in our Demonstration Kitchen and go beyond a basic loaf. Bread is more than a vehicle for butter. Learn how to develop complex flavors and textures in your bread. We will explore porridge breads, vegetable purees and various flours.
Participants will experience all the steps of making naturally leavened sourdough bread. Our hands will be in the dough as we learn to adjust bakers formulas for add-ins, mix our bread, shape our loaves, bake and share. You will leave with your very own sourdough starter, a freshly baked loaf, a proofing basket, and a loaf to bake at home.
We will learn about adjusting baker's percentages, discuss the structure of different grains and nerd out over cookbooks. Light lunch provided.
