Framed Moss Art with Southwood

Learn how to bring a no-maintenance piece of natural art into your home at our next workshop! The staff from Southwood Home & Garden will provide all the elements needed and help you to spur your creativity. Best of all, you will take home a one of a kind preserved moss art piece to display in your home or office!

Please join us on Thursday evening April 23 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. This workshop is limited to 14 participants, so don’t wait to purchase your ticket.

The workshop starts at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open 10 minutes early for check-in. All supplies will be provided, including:

· One 12” x 12” wood frame
· A selection of preserved mosses
· Small, natural branches with lichens
· Adhesive
· Disposable gloves (optional)

This is a hands-on workshop. Please be aware that participants will be touching mosses and wood. The classroom does have a sink for washing hands and disposable gloves will be available. Please dress accordingly.

The workshop will be held in the Demonstration Kitchen, these are the doors across from Akira. Each ticket holder will complete one preserved moss frame art piece to take home.

Remember, you can also make it a full evening by grabbing dinner and drinks in the food hall before the workshop begins.

Dino & Carnivorous Terrarium with Southwood

Thursday, March 19, 2026 - Special Spring Break Event

1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Every year, thousands of miniature dinosaurs go without a terrarium to call their home. These misunderstood creatures deserve a glass enclosure to call their own, along with a carnivorous plant companion – the Venus Flytrap! Add a little moss and some rocks, and suddenly it’s perfectly homey and reminds them of their prehistoric origins.

This Spring Break, join Southwood Home & Garden for the Dino & Carnivorous Terrarium Workshop, where dino-fans and carnivorous plant-fans of all ages can build and take home their very own Jurassic jungle! This workshop event is being held at a special time for Spring Breakers: Thursday afternoon from 1-3:30 pm, March 19, in the Demonstration Kitchen at Mother Road Market. We encourage anyone who is a kid at heart to attend too!

Please note that an adult must be present at the workshop with school age attendees. An adult supervisor does not need a ticket and will not receive a terrarium.

At this hands-on workshop you will learn the do’s and don’ts of caring for a Venus Flytrap plant. The Southwood staff will be eager to answer your questions about carnivorous plants and guide you in making your terrarium. All supplies will be provided, and each ticket holder will leave with one completed Dino & Carnivorous Terrarium.

• Potting medium

• Decorative preserved moss
