Kokedama with Southwood

Are you looking for a fun Valentine’s date or Galentine’s friends activity? Southwood has you covered! Join us to learn how to make your very own Kokedama! What is Kokedama, you ask? In Japanese, “koke” translates to moss, and “dama” translates to ball. This Japanese gardening technique does not require a pot. Instead, your plant’s roots are secured in a ball of soil which is covered with moss. Kokedama provides a whimsical way to display your plant as living decor! If you were the kid that loved to make mud pies, or if you just want to learn a unique planting technique, please join us for this Valentine’s Day workshop! All supplies will be provided, and each ticket holder will leave with one completed Kokedama plant.

And to make your Valentine’s Day a little more special, The WEL Bar will feature the Be Mine Martini: a chocolate martini adorned with candy heart edible confetti for $11. Beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are allowed in the workshop area.

Please check the Humanitix for pictures. Plants available at the workshop will vary.

Tickets: $40 https://events.humanitix.com/southwood-feb2026

This is a step-by-step workshop which is limited to 14 participants. The group workshop will start at 1:00 p.m. There will be an optional break for lunch, which is on your own with an abundance of choices in the food hall! Following the lunch break, it is anticipated that all participants will be finished by 4:00 p.m.
